Eric Trump to Greta on the Trump University Scam – “It’s a Small Thing” Michael Bresciani, March 10, 2016
Appearing with Greta Van Susteren on Monday March 7, 2016 Eric Trump warmed to Greta who had only on the previous day fawned over Melania Trump. She garnished her interview with the words “First Lady” with what seemed like hopeful smiles.
It was a long list of about how great it felt to see his father filling stadiums and sailing along as the undisputed front runner in the GOP battle for the party’s nomination.
Near the end of the interview Greta raised the questions of Trump University which is being labeled a scam by some including presidential hopeful Marco Rubio.
The Trump University’s scandal is embroiled in controversy, but it cannot be denied or taken as a campaign device because it, like so many of Trump’s business dealings, is a matter of public record.
The University changed its name from Trump University to ‘The Trump Entrepreneur Initiative and is now believed to be out of business. The BBB in New York received complaints relating to products and services. And the New York Attorney General, Eric Schneiderman, filed a $40M suit against TU for, “engaging in persistent fraudulent, illegal and deceptive conduct in connection with the operation of Trump University, between 2005 through 2011.”
Some of the charges in that case were thrown out, others reached the statute of limitations, but a major portion of the suit is still in the works because the appeals court still plans to let the case go forward and it will interfere with Trump’s campaign schedules.
In addition to the NY AG’s suit, two other class action suits have been filed and are pending.
When Trump said his University had a top BBB rating during the last GOP debate, he simply lied, because the business is now not functioning and therefore cannot have a rating. When it was functioning it had a very poor rating.
The AG of Texas gave TU the boot right out of the state and in San Diego a case exists where those that signed up for the course are seeking to get their money back which totals some $60K.
Trump has stated publicly on many occasions that he will win his case, but he has never been heard offering to return the money to his totally dis-satisfied clients.
When Eric Trump declared to Greta Susteren that it is a “small thing” we can only wonder if the people who lost money, are considered “small people” to Donald Trump.
It is apparent that Trump sees some people as “Yuge” and others as small since he began to refer to Florida Senator, Marco Rubio as “Little Marco.”
We can only guess how the rest of us fit into Trump’s categories - are we big or small?
Comparing Trump’s many business successes to his few failures is a comparison that may follow any entrepreneur; it is when we compare every success to even a few frauds that the picture dramatically changes.
It is rather simple.
First, Trump promises to make his clients “great” with riches. Secondly he promises to make America “great again.”
Before another single vote is cast for this candidate, it would behoove the voters to carefully consider Trump’s dead end record of making anything great - except himself.
Accordingly, when this world comes to a halt, great and small will mean nothing, only what we have done with what we had will count for anything, to wit:
“And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.” (Revelation 20: 12)
